The ever-growing Port of Everett will soon get a new marine business tenant this month with the opening of a new S3 Maritime service center at the Port’s Waterfront Center building along the Everett Marina.
While most of the 2,600-square-foot Everett location will be used as offices for about three to five employees, there will also be access to Everett’s boatyard, moorage, and small areas for benchwork and other light servicing needs.
“We already have extensive mobile capabilities throughout the region,” said Kalin Tobin, general manager of S3 Maritime. “This new office will just be an extension of that, offering staff technicians closer to the local marine community for things like electrical upgrades or hydraulic work.”
The Everett property, scheduled to open on March 1, will be the fifth service location for the company, which was launched in 2007 with its headquarters on Salmon Bay and a service center in the Ballard area. Since then, it opened another branch in Anacortes in 2021 and expanded to a second boatyard location in Anacortes just last year.
S3 offers full-service marine installation, maintenance, and repair, specializing in electronics, engine/mechanical, HVAC, hydraulics, metal fabrication, paint and fiberglass, water systems, and yard services. The new Everett location will provide faster response times for commercial and recreational customers in Snohomish County and surrounding areas, Tobin said.
Currently, there are more than 18 marine businesses at the Port of Everett’s 1.5 million-square-foot development, known as Waterfront Place. This includes Everett Marina, which features 2,300 permanent slips and 5,000 lineal feet of guest moorage.
Last year, the development opened a new fuel dock at the marina and welcomed several new restaurants, retail businesses, and housing units. Next year, the Port will begin renovation work on the nearby Jetty Landing Boat Launch via a $1 million state grant.
