Hanse 460

by Norris Comer

The Hanse 460 sailboat didn’t come out this year, but it did earn a suite of industry awards, including European Yacht of the Year in 2022 and Sail magazine’s top 10 best boats in 2023. At the time of this writing, there is a 2025-built hull for sale locally at a post-Seattle Boat Show special discount. Why not take a gander?

The 47’ Hanse 460 is a sloop-rigged, fiberglass European-style cruiser through and through, with modern features and styling. The hull features a cast-iron L-keel with a draft of a little over seven feet. The rig is anodized aluminum and deck-stepped. The jib furler and backstay tensioner are manual as standard.

On-deck, the skipper has twin helms to play with and a cockpit fit for entertaining with seats and tables. An integrated windshield and cockpit cover is a nice feature for our sometimes-foul-weathered waters. The transom also folds out into a swimstep of generous size for a sailboat.

Down below, Hanse 460s can have berths for anywhere between six and 10 crew depending on which layout was selected. There are eight hull windows, a generous galley, and wood finishes that all make this cruiser feel like a well-lit home inside.

All told, this is quite a bit of boat at 47’ in length. For a sailing family or couple that likes to entertain, this Hanse 460 might be ideal.
